The Floating City stands as a magnificent marvel of engineering, yet is it truly the best defense against a demonic invasion? Perhaps instead of conquering the skies, we should direct our thoughts elsewhere? To the Underground, perhaps? Many of the greatest minds considered this idea! Beneath the earth's surface, several cities have flourished indeed. At one point, their growth and development rivaled even the most luxurious cities above. However, a world devoid of sunlight proved far harsher than scientists and explorers had ever imagined. Giant subterranean creatures from forgotten epochs found refuge in the thick darkness and impenetrable shadows. One such creature was Kor-Tar, or "The Ice Serpent"— a colossal asp with impenetrable scales. Damaging the armor of surface dragons is a formidable task, but Kor-Tar... When it breached one of the largest underground settlements, it wrought utter chaos, destroying everything within hours. Spears, swords, and powerful spells were all futile against the serpent. Even the latest inventions were powerless in the face of this ancient terror. The only salvation remained in narrow escape tunnels, too tight for the serpent to squeeze through. Learning of the asp's rampage, other cities hastily sealed their major passages to the Underworld, just in time—Kor-Tar nearly decimated another city. This horrifying incident made the sentient races wary of their subterranean refuge and prompted them to explore it more cautiously. It turned out the world without the sun was far scarier than the surface! But now let us turn our attention to the Weekend Events in Rise of Angels!
